Alien Planet

The CGI or computer animated drama/documentary takes place on Darwin IV, a planet 6.5 light years from earth, with 2 suns and 60% of Earth's gravity. Having identified Darwin as a world that could support life, Earth sends a pilot mission consisting of the Mothership Von Braun and three probes: Balboa, Da Vinci, and Newton. This robotic fleet is responsible for finding and assessing any life forms on Darwin IV. Initially, the expectation is to find microscopic life, but the probes soon find themselves in the middle of a developed ecosystem teeming with diversity of life of all sizes. The drama on Darwin IV is motivated by real science missions, such as the NASA Origins Program and the NASA / JPL Planet-Finder Mission, as well as the European Space Agency's Darwin Project. "Alien Planet " is a cosmic expedition along side Stephen Hawking, Michio Kaku, Jack Horner, Craig Venter, and George Lucas...

China's Ghost Army: The Terracotta Army

China's Ghost Army

Since being unearthed in 1974, experts have attempted to resolve an enduring enigma about one of archaeology's greatest finds. Now, with the help of 21st century technology, the once mighty army with its life size warriors rises from the dust of two millennia.

The Terracotta Army (literally "soldier and horse funerary statues") or the "Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses", is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China.

The figures, dating from 210 BC, were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers in Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi province, near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor.

Secrets Of The First Emperor

Secrets Of the First Emperor

This is a story that took place more than 2,000 years ago in one of the most advanced civilisations in the world. It tells of a young king who came to rule a great Empire. His name was Qin Shi Huang Di – the first Emperor of China. He was a brilliant strategist. He conquered all of ancient China – and to this day it bears his name. But there are no eyewitness accounts of what the most powerful man of the ancient world was like. Almost everything we know about him comes from a chronicle written a century after Qin’s death. In this chronicle the writer, Sima Qian, tells how hundreds of thousands of people suffered to build the Emperor a huge mausoleum – an underground palace, guarded by an army of clay. He also describes a determined attempt on Qin’s life. But this monarch feared only one adversary – Death – and believed that death, too, could be defeated. His new Empire was supposed to be eternal. It ended in chaos. But the legend – and the mystery of his tomb – survived.

Sun Tzu: The Art Of War

Sun Tzu: The Art Of War

“The art of war is of vital importance to the state. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected.”

So begins The Art of War, a meditation on the rules of war that was first published in China. Historians don’t know the exact date of the book’s publication (though they believe it to be in the 4th or 5th century); in fact, they don’t even know who wrote it! Scholars have long believed that The Art of War’s author was a Chinese military leader named Sun Tzu, or Sunzi. Today, however, many people think that there was no Sun Tzu: Instead, they argue, the book is a compilation of generations of Chinese theories and teachings on military strategy. Whether or not Sun Tzu was a real person, it’s clear that “he” was very wise: The Art of War still resonates with readers today.

7 Signs Of The Apocalypse

7 Signs Of The Apocalypse

The Seven Signs are clear: We will be struck by deadly plagues, famines and earthquakes... The sky will turn dark and oceans will turn to blood... And the antichrist will emerge to fight the final battle between good and evil. Could this all be true? Experts decode this powerful prophecy and come to a startling conclusion: there is now scientific evidence that many of these catastrophes could, in fact, be occurring. A star falling from the sky could be one of thousands of rogue asteroids that may be approaching earth. The plague foretold in the Bible could be a deadly strain of avian virus that researchers fear could kill millions. Oceans turning blood red could be triggered by microorganisms that release dangerous neurotoxins that have the same effect as nerve gas. To reveal the ultimate truth behind the prophecy, this investigation will turn to the past to reveal why the prophecy was written, and why it keeps such a powerful hold on our imagination today.

2012 Apocalypse

2012 Apocalypse

Doomsday fanatics believe that a lost civilization predicted our fate more than 1,000 years ago - that the world will come to an end on 21st December 2012. They claim that fire will pour down from the skies and the oceans will rise up and swallow the land. They are adamant destruction on this date is certain, and evidence confirming our impending doom can be found in ancient calendars and the movements of the stars and planets.  '2012 Apocalypse' investigates these plausible planetary disasters and whether or not they determine if the end of life on Earth really is lurking just around the corner
